Joining the Lions Club is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while building friendships and leadership skills. Members participate in community service projects, fundraising efforts, youth programs, vision initiatives, and charitable outreach throughout the area.
As our most common membership type, members work to strengthen their communities and serve Lions International’s global causes — or any other cause important to them.
Family membership allows relatives living in the same house to volunteer together. Families are able to spend quality time together and grow their passion for service — all at a reduced dues rate. Children cannot become members, but can participate in the Cub Program, which gives children the opportunity to build a lifelong dedication to helping others.
The ideal membership for students who are enrolled in an educational institution. Members between their country’s legal age of majority and under 30 are eligible to receive a discount on international dues.
Leo membership is designed for young people ages 12-30 who are interested in serving their communities. This membership type features many benefits for young people, including no membership fee, educational opportunities, networking and much more.
Traditional clubs bring together a group of service-minded individuals who want to improve their community and meet locally on a regular basis.
Specialty clubs bring together a group of individuals who share a common interest in addition to a commitment to service. A specialty club may be centered around a specific hobby, culture, profession or another common interest.
Virtual clubs conduct some or all club meetings remotely, over the phone or via the internet. This club type allows a more widely distributed group of club members to plan and implement service projects with ease, and it’s a great fit for those with busy schedules.
Campus clubs offer students the opportunity to build leadership skills and create a common bond of service with fellow students. Members of campus clubs may also be eligible for student membership.
Leo clubs provide an opportunity for youth and young adults to serve in their communities, develop leadership skills and grow as individuals. There are two kinds of Leo clubs — Alpha Leos (ages 12-18) and Omega Leos (ages 18-30).
